Tower Hill Studios
Located a walking distance from The Tower of London and Tower Bridge, the scheme delivered a new build seven-storey mixed-use building. Office spaces were provided on ground and basement levels, with 39 hotel rooms on the above floors.Regenerating a neglected car park site, the project has activated the streetscape by including offices and the hotel reception on the ground floor level.
High sustainability credentials were targeted from inception and the scheme has achieved BREEAM Excellent rating. This was achieved through a highly insulated and airtight building fabric, inlcusion of air-source heat pumps and a mechanical ventilation system, photovoltaic panels on roofs, and a blue roof system which improves local biodiversity and stores enough rainwater from a 1 in 100-year (plus 40% for climate change) storm event.
We worked closely with hotel operator, Bob W, and their interior design team to deliver high-quality serviced apartment rooms which all feature ensuite bathrooms and small kitchenettes.
