WE MADE THE SHORTLIST: OUR TRANSFORMATION OF HISTORIC CAMDEN WAREHOUSE SELECTED FOR AJ SMALL PROJECTS AWARDS FINALS
Thu 28 Mar 2019
We’re thrilled to announce that our work on 9 Jeffrey’s Place, Camden has been shortlisted in the AJ Small Projects Awards.
This well established and respected award scheme is now in its 24th year. The scheme, backed by leading trade magazine Architects’ Journal, celebrates projects with a contract value of under £250,000 and aims to give a real indication of the design talent in Britain today. Entries span everything from restaurant, office, and retail to residential projects.
We’re delighted to see our team’s work on Jeffrey’s Place recognised in this way. Working for our client BTU Group, we gave this 19th century warehouse a new lease of life as a modern, uncluttered office space with bright, open interior spaces. We opened the entire building up to daylight with a central skylight and a new, folded steel staircase that connects all three floors.
Working to reflect the character of the Jeffrey’s Street Conservation Area, our design incorporates sliding timber shutters that control light and privacy to the ground floor of the office and when closed, echo the original stable frontage.
We look forward to presenting to the judging team on 10 April and sharing our passion for and pride in this project.
